New Bern, NC - 75 or 100 miles x 2 days
September 2007, Charity Ride
Riders: Brian Kirkpatrick, Shelly Kirkpatrick, Jon Felten, Kelly Felten, Dwayne Allen, Angie Tabor
MS 150 weekend is a well organized, fun weekend of biking that is for a great cause. We decided to do the 100 mile option on Saturday. The rest stops were amazing…as always. A church bake sale is at one of the stops & the banana pudding was awesome. Freezy pops were at the 75 mile rest stop and we were loving them!! The last 5 miles of the ride, we decided to throw the hammer down (and we had the police escort) – so the ending was fast & fun! We enjoyed the sponsored dinner and entertainment that night, but a tropical storm was moving toward New Bern & the NC coast. Since we were camping, we decided to pack up around 9pm for home. We heard we made a good decision as rain and strong wind plagued Sunday’s ride and the event only exercised the 30 mile option. We did our best to keep the spirit of the weekend & rode from Raleigh on Sunday (which had great weather…just windy!). |
