This race was broken up into two segments. Race started at Noon on a Saturday and roughly around midnight you made it back to the camping area. There was a dark zone until 6 AM the next morning. This race had a ton of kayaking, which would have been great, except that our kayak rentals got mixed up and we ended up with one canoe and one kayak. And even the kayak we had to fix the rudder on the fly. Matt and Dwayne got stuck in the canoe and have many stories. And there was plenty of portaging of our not so light boats. Ugh! (We now have new kayaks of our own to bring to these races.) We rocked the bike sections and had fun passing teams here (since we weren’t passing anyone on the boats!) and the trekking was good too.
